Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) for Men and Women
As we age, hormone levels naturally decline, but that does not mean fatigue, brain fog, low libido, weight gain, or poor sleep are things you simply have to accept. When hormones fall out of balance, the effects can reach nearly every system in the body, impacting energy, metabolism, mood, cognitive function, and long-term health.
At Priority You MD, hormone optimization is approached as whole-body medicine, not just symptom management. Our care is led by Dr. Brent Agin, MD, who has more than 20 years of experience in hormone optimization and functional medicine and continues to train physicians nationwide in advanced, patient-centered treatment strategies.
Our Process
We begin with comprehensive, clinically reliable blood-based testing to create a clear picture of your hormonal, metabolic, and overall health before any treatment decisions are made.
Step 1: Comprehensive Lab Testing
This is completed prior to your initial visit and includes advanced blood testing designed to evaluate not just hormone levels, but how those hormones interact with your metabolism, cardiovascular system, and overall wellness. Panels are customized to your symptoms and goals, but commonly include:
- Testosterone (Total and Free)
- Estradiol
- Progesterone (when clinically indicated)
- Thyroid panel (TSH, Free T3, Free T4)
- DHEA-S
- Cortisol baseline markers
- Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG)
- Metabolic markers such as fasting glucose, A1C, and lipid profile
- Cardiovascular and inflammatory risk markers when indicated
Step 2: Physician Consultation
Once your lab results are available, you will meet with Dr. Agin for a detailed consultation. He will review your results alongside your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle factors, and personal health goals to develop a treatment plan designed specifically for you, not just for your numbers.
Step 3: Personalized Hormone Optimization Plan
Based on your clinical findings, Dr. Agin may recommend a customized bioidentical hormone regimen along with targeted nutrient or metabolic support when appropriate. Treatment options may include topical creams, oral tablets or troches, and injectable therapies.
Step 4: Ongoing Monitoring and Optimization
Most patients are re-evaluated every 3 to 6 months to track progress, adjust dosing as needed, and ensure both safety and long-term results.
