At Home Ketamine Therapy

For some patients, ketamine therapy at home may offer a safe, convenient, and effective option when carefully planned and medically supervised.

At Priority You MD, our at-home ketamine program is designed for appropriate candidates who have already been medically evaluated, educated, and guided through treatment with our team. This is not a starting point for everyone, but for the right patient, it can provide greater flexibility and comfort while still maintaining structure and safety.

How the Program Works

1. Initial Screening and Medical Clearance

If you are interested in at-home ketamine therapy, the first step is a thorough screening process and medical clearance with Dr. Brent Agin. We will review your health history, symptoms, goals, and overall candidacy to determine whether this program may be a good fit for you.

2. In-Office Treatment and Dosing Evaluation

Before being considered for at-home therapy, patients are required to undergo treatment sessions in the office.

This allows our team to:

  • determine the most appropriate dosing
  • monitor your response to treatment
  • help you become familiar with the experience
  • ensure you know what to expect physically and emotionally

This step is an important part of making sure treatment is both safe and effective.

3. Education and Injection Training

Once you have responded appropriately and are approved to move forward, we will provide education on how to self-administer the injections at home. If needed, a caregiver may also be taught how to administer the medication.

We will also review safety instructions, session preparation, aftercare, and all required questionnaires and forms.

4. Caregiver Requirement

For all at-home ketamine sessions, a caregiver must be present. This is a required part of the program to help promote safety and provide support during each treatment experience.

5. Medication Shipped From a Licensed Compounding Pharmacy

Once approved, your medication will be shipped directly to you from an FDA-registered compounding pharmacy. Our team will continue to guide your care and provide ongoing follow-up as needed.

Why Some Patients Prefer At-Home Ketamine Therapy

For the right patient, at-home treatment may offer several advantages:

Greater Convenience

Some patients live farther from the office or have difficulty coordinating transportation. At-home therapy can reduce the time and stress involved in traveling to appointments.

Less Stress Around the Visit

Because ketamine therapy can require someone to drive you home, many patients find it easier to prepare in their own environment rather than arranging transportation to and from the office.

A More Comfortable Setting

Being able to prepare, reflect, and settle into the experience from the comfort of your own home, on your own schedule, can feel more grounding for some patients.

Lower Cost

At-home ketamine therapy is generally less expensive than in-office IV ketamine treatments, making it a more accessible option for some individuals.

Important to Know

At-home ketamine therapy is not appropriate for everyone. Patient safety, medical history, response to treatment, and overall readiness all matter when determining candidacy.

If Dr. Agin and our team feel this program is a good fit for you and your situation, we will guide you through each step carefully to help ensure you feel prepared, supported, and safe.
