Look And Feel Your Best With Micro-Needling

Our facial skin becomes somewhat brittle in appearance as we age. Fine lines and crow’s feet become more prominent. A decrease in the amount of collagen in the skin is the primary culprit. If a triggering mechanism is employed to stimulate collagen production, the facial skin can become smoother and more youthful in appearance. This is what micro-needling accomplishes.

Also known as skin needling or collagen induction therapy, micro-needling is performed as a means to induce rapid tissue healing. If the body senses an injury, nutrients are rushed via the bloodstream to the affected area. When a series of microscopic channels are made in the skin, this stimulates the production of collagen, the key protein responsible for structural integrity and resilience of the skin.

In the weeks following treatment, the body begins to produce more and more collagen. This means that the final smoothing and tightening of the skin will take some time. Eventually, the tone is evened out, the fine wrinkles are far less visible, and the surface is supple and taut. There is minimal downtime associated with this procedure. We will instruct the client on how to perform at-home follow-up care.

We have found that this treatment, especially when combined with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections, can also help mitigate and eliminate a number of blemishes. During the consultation, we will inform the client on whether micro-needling is a suitable treatment for the improvement of discolorations in the skin.

When the collagen levels are elevated, the skin takes on a glowing, youthful appearance. This can really do wonders for the individual’s self-esteem and confidence. If you’re applying too much makeup and concealer because you’re trying desperately to hide those smile lines, acne scars, and areas of hyperpigmentation, we have good news for you.
