Ask the expert—a doctor shares his secret for six pack abs

Yes, our founder and CEO has six pack abs.  At Priority You MD, we practice what we preach and it starts at the top!  Dr. Brent Agin is 45 years old, is 6’ tall, weighs 185 lbs and has 9% body fat.

 

Clients turn to us every day for wellness based program recommendations, products and services for weight management, disease prevention and anti-aging.  They often ask us about the personal wellness regimens of our staff members, so we thought sharing our top doc’s would be a great start!

 

So what’s his secret?

 

To sum it up, Dr. Agin stays lean and fit by using a balanced approach to wellness that incorporates healthy habits for nutrition, exercise, supplementation, hydration and rest.  Here are some specifics:

 

Diet

 

Dr. Agin uses a 5 days on 2 days off approach to nutrition.  Five days out of the week, he eats a high protein, low carb diet that’s rich in low calorie, nutrient dense foods:

  • Sunday through Thursday
    • 1500 calories of nutrient dense foods
    • High protein and less than 50g carbs
  • Friday and Saturday
    • Off days with carbohydrate loading both days after 3pm
  • Water intake:
  • 100-128 ounces daily

 

Supplements

 

Dr. Agin utilizes the following nutrient injections, oral supplements and peptide therapies.

  • Nutrient Injections
  • Oral Nutritional Supplements
    • Trim® Fuel Protein Shakes with 30 calorie Almond milk twice a day
    • Trim® Night Cutter –1 TBSP nightly – prior to bed
    • Seriphos® – 1000mg prior to bed
    • Tart Cherry Extract – 500mg prior to bed
    • Trim® Vitamin D3 5000 IU daily
    • Trim® PowerCell –2 capsules morning
    • Trim® Adrenal Repair –2 capsules morning and 2 capsules afternoon
    • Trim® Omega 3 FA 3000mg daily
  • Peptide Therapies
    • RAS-2 daily – two months on then two months off

 

Exercise

 

When it comes to exercise, finding an activity you enjoy that you will do consistently is the key.  This is different for every individual.  Regular exercise that incorporates a combination of strengthening, flexibility and cardiovascular training is ideal.

 

As for Dr. Agin, he enjoys high intensity interval training regularly and plays sports like golf and basketball whenever he can.

  • High intensity interval training (HIIT) 4 days a week lasting 20-35 min per session
